Tatum Elementary School

Principal's Message
Welcome to the Tatum Elementary School website. Tatum Elementary serves roughly 375 fourth through sixth graders of the Tatum Independent School District. Tatum Elementary School is a small rural school located in the Piney Woods of East Texas. Our campus sits 20 miles from four different county seats, Longview, Carthage, Henderson and Marshall.
Tatum Elementary school is a wonderful place to teach and to learn. Our curriculum, instruction and assessment processes are second to none. Our teachers meet weekly to collaborate on rigorous and relevant lessons (www.leadered.com/rrr.html) that ensure integration of 21st century learning skills (www.p21.org) and require students to "think" about their thinking (www.idsrp.com). Our teachers use three week formative assessments and analyze the data to ensure mastery of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge Skills). The collaborative effort among all constituents played a major role in Tatum Elementary obtaining a TEA Recognized rating for six years in a row. Most notably, the latest state assessment results demonstrated Tatum Elementary School with a combined score for all grade levels in math at 95% and 91% of students meeting expectations in the area of science.
On behalf of the entire Tatum Elementary faculty, thank you for supporting our school. We hope you enjoy our webpage and the information it provides. Please feel free to contact us with other information if you wish.
Go Eagles!
Educationally yours,
Jennifer Malone
