A new era of Tatum Lady Eagles Softball is officially underway, and excitement is already building across Eagle Nation.

Tatum ISD has announced the hiring of Coach Kylei Griffin as the new head coach of the Lady Eagles softball program — a move that brings championship pedigree, high-level playing experience, and a relentless passion for the game to Tatum High School.

Coach Griffin arrives with an impressive softball résumé that includes national recognition, conference championships, NCAA postseason success, and Academic All-American honors. Throughout her playing career, she established herself as both a fierce competitor and a proven leader, earning accolades that speak to her commitment on and off the field.

Now, she takes on her first head coaching opportunity with one clear mission: building a championship culture in Tatum.

Tatum ISD Athletic Director Whitney Keeling believes the district found exactly the right person to lead the program forward.

“Coach Griffin brings energy, passion, and tons of softball experience,” said Keeling. “I feel the district has hired one of the best around. This will be her first head coaching experience, but high expectations are set.”

That excitement is shared throughout the community as the Lady Eagles prepare for a future centered around accountability, development, toughness, and excellence.

Coach Griffin’s background includes competing at the highest collegiate levels, including NCAA Regional and Super Regional appearances, conference championships, and national honors that reflect both elite athletic performance and academic discipline. Her experience gives current and future Lady Eagles a coach who understands what it takes to compete — and win — at a high level.

More importantly, those around the program believe her leadership style and passion for young athletes will have an immediate impact on Tatum softball's culture.

With a fresh vision, proven experience, and a hunger to build something special, the future looks bright for the Tatum Lady Eagles.
