Brett Carr Returns to Lead Tatum Lady Eagles Basketball

For more than two decades, Brett Carr has been synonymous with excellence in Tatum basketball. His name is woven into the fabric of Eagle athletics, and now, one of the most successful coaches in school history is returning to the court in a new role—as the Head Coach of the Tatum Lady Eagles Basketball Program.
The announcement marks a historic moment for Tatum ISD and a tremendous opportunity for the Lady Eagles program.
Coach Carr's resume speaks for itself. During his tenure leading the Tatum Eagles boys basketball program, he guided multiple teams to the UIL State Tournament, including appearances in 2003, 2011, 2014, 2021, and 2025. His final season became the crowning achievement of an already remarkable career as he led the Eagles to the program's first-ever Boys 3A UIL State Basketball Championship, finishing with an unforgettable 84-49 victory over Columbus in the 3A Division I State Championship Game.
For years, Carr's teams have been known for their relentless effort, discipline, toughness, accountability, and unwavering belief in one another. Those same qualities are expected to become the foundation of the Lady Eagles program moving forward.
