Student Accident Insurance

Overview

To support our students and families, Tatum ISD offers access to supplemental student accident insurance, available through Health Special Risk, Inc. (HSR) and underwritten by Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. This optional coverage gives your family financial peace of mind by helping with medical costs resulting from accidents at school or beyond.

Coverage Options

Health Special Risk, Inc. provides two straightforward plans:

  • At-School Coverage
    Provides protection during regular school hours for students enrolled full-time in kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • 24-Hour Coverage
    Extends protection around the clock—any time, anywhere.

Both plans require a one-time annual premium, starting from the date of enrollment. Note that certain exclusions and limitations apply, so it’s important to review the full policy details.

How to Enroll

  1. Visit the Enrollment Portal
    Go to K12StudentInsurance.com to get started.

  2. Check Rates & School Availability
    Browse plan options and verify that Tatum ISD is eligible.

  3. Create an Account (or Log In)
    If you're new, open a new account; returning users can log into their existing account.

  4. Add Student & Coverage
    Provide the appropriate details (student name, grade, etc.) and choose your preferred coverage option.

  5. Pay & Confirm
    Complete the one-time payment via credit card or eCheck, then save or print your confirmation for your records.
